I feel like I was at the forefront of Pixel phones. I had the first, the 3A, the 4XL, 5, 6…I basically upgraded every year.
This is a low point. Running the latest software on my Pixel 10 Pro, everything feels worse. The animations are slower, the “blur” effects are barely there, and performance improvements are negligible. It feels sluggish. I am struggling to find out why I still argue for the Pixel line.
It DOESN’T feel smooth anymore. The camera misses more than it hits now. The updates aren’t trickling new features anymore, they’re bogging everything down with AI that isn’t useful to me.
It can pull verification codes now. But it takes 10-20 seconds after receiving a message or email to offer the “Copy” option. My mind and my fingers are moving faster than this. Why is Google not keeping up?
Maps crashes at LEAST once every trip. I filed a bug report with a screen recording, Google says they can’t see the issue. So how is Gemini improving Android on the coding front?
I don’t want to spend $1200 just to get 256GB on a phone that should have already had it.
Look. RAM this, storage that. Why do we care? Google is a TRILLION DOLLAR valuation company. They make their money off services and ads. So what is the justification?
It is becoming frustrating to use Google Pixel and it used to feel fun and new and fresh. I miss that. I don’t think Gemini is improving that. I think the vibe coding behind the scenes and the front facing slop is making Pixel look worse.
Galaxy and iPhone have Gemini on deck and don’t run into these issues. I’d forgive Tensor performance if I was still getting EXCLUSIVITY with it, but I’m not. Samsung gets to launch features first and now Siri runs on Gemini. What the hell am I paying for?
EDIT: Okay so I run the Beta program on Pixel constantly and I will jump back and forth between beta channel and stable channel on a regular basis. This means my phone is getting factory reset and restored without backup more than once a year. Yet these lag problems persist. This is also my SECOND Pixel 10 Pro. What's the solution now? I feel like I'm yelling at brick walls.
